Akter Banu's Struggle and a Dream Come True
She is Akter Banu, she has 1 daughter and 2 sons her husband’s name is Azad Hosen. They are very poor, her husband works in the field, but her husband's income is not sufficient for their family.
One day she listened from facilitator about sewing training. After listening to this Akter Banu dreamed about her future.
She thought after learning tailoring she can change her family condition! She can help her family, she can help her children obtain an education.
After enrolling and faithfully attending classes for 6 month, she did well in class and learned sewing skills very well. She realized she needs a sewing machine for tailoring business but she had no money to buy one. So she submitted a loan application for 4 thousand taka to her savings group to buy a used sewing machine. After her loan request was approved she bought the used sewing machine while still attending classes. She would practice sewing at home at night so she achieved very good result.
Now she is getting order from villagers for sewing clothes and she is earning money! Now her monthly income is 1 thousand taka! She hopes she will earn more taka day by day.
She said now her dreams are being fulfilled! Now she can change her family condition day by day. Now she has learned that people can change their bad condition by working hard.
